Barry Syska is a musical artist who entertains a palette of many different styles. As a self-taught musician, one can hear reflections ranging from folk, jazz, blues to vaudeville in his poetic storybook of flavors.

From a low croon to a high smooth lullaby, he possesses a voice that carries listeners through a soundscape that is dreamy and whimsical one moment, and hauntingly mystical the next. His range is as wide and eclectic as his influences, spanning from Tom Waits, Jeff Buckley, and Nick Drake to name just a few. Various world influences such as Joel Gilberto have also inspired Syska in his guitar playing, singing and songwriting. Nonetheless, the style of this artist is hard to pinpoint and this is just part of what gives his music its intensity and unforgettable melody.

Syska has a history of various musical endeavours. He has performed at venues from East to West, such as The Chance in NY, The Walnut Creek Amphitheater in NC, and Berkeley's Starry Plough and Freight & Salvage.

Syska is now beginning his solo career in the San Francisco Bay Area and is currently working on a new album due out in the next few months.
